I know that I shouldn’t be allowed to take pictures of my food. Get over it.
These taste good. So make them. And eat them.
Ingredients:
1 green cabbage
1 lbs. ground buffalo
1/2-3/4 head cauliflower
1 small yellow onion
1 tbs. paprika
salt and pepper to taste
3 cloves are garlic finely chopped
2 cups tomato sauce
Pull out your crockpot!
Cut up your cauliflower and put in food processor- pulse until finely broken up (like rice). Chop your onion and throw it in the processor for a couple pulses.
Mix your meat with the spices, garlic, 1-1.5 cups tomato sauce, and cauliflower-onion mixture in a bowl.
Peel 8-12 leaves off your cabbage (this can be hard, it’s okay if they rip or you end up with half of leaves, it will still work!).
Bring some water to a boil and blanch your cabbage leaves (dunk one in for a second until it gets soft).
Take on leaf at a time and plop a big spoonful of your meat mixture in the middle. Roll up your cabbage leaves so they hold the meat in then place in your crockpot. Continue with all leaves. Pour remaining sauce over top.
Cook on low for 8-10 hours.
Variations? You can really make these however you want! Super easy, just choose your filling and spices or veggies that you like 🙂
I know I promised this post was going to be genius… Well, I decided to post-pone that one for later this weekend. So you get this instead.
You should talk to your grandmother about how to get cabbage leaves without tearing. It’s an old Polish skill used in making halupki. Get the info while you can!
